Trevor Donarski is a talented and accomplished individual
with an extensive background in the entire Software Product Development
Life-Cycle. He has more than 20 years successfully designing, implementing and
managing various software systems from inception to end-of-life transitions.
Mr. Donarski directs the planning, development and
implementation to execute actionable solutions aligned to strategy, objectives,
and priorities. He structures teams to obtain superior results, mentors
individual contributors and manages across multiple global sites. He believes
that communication is the key to success and works tirelessly to improve the
interactions of all those around him. Mr. Donarski is a Certified Product Owner
and Scrum Master with comprehensive knowledge and experience implementing and
using Agile methodologies. Throughout his career, Mr. Donarski has demonstrated
he is a self-starter who is driven by new challenges and a desire to
continuously improve and be successful in all endeavors.
Mr. Donarski’s career started at Motorola as a senior
software engineer where he rapidly advanced to Lead Software Architect and led
a team of engineers to create the first device to successfully integrate
cellular and GPS technologies. He quickly became knowledgeable in software
process and led the effort to transition the software teams to Agile
Development methodologies that promote individuals and interactions over
processes and tools.
Mr. Donarski moved to the Bose Corporation where he was
brought in to roll-out Agile Software Development methodologies to the Home
Entertainment software development teams. He became the focal point of
communication between software and all other functional groups in the Home
Entertainment Product Division (hardware, manufacturing, marketing, mechanical,
program management, quality assurance and user experience). He managed 8
simultaneous products of teams ranging from 3-14 people where he reduced
discovered work by 25% and increased on-time delivery rate by 15%. When there
was a resource shortage Mr. Donarski stepped in and developed the code to
control the volume of Bose Lifestyle systems which brought the schedule in and
allowed for the suite of products to be released on time.
Mr. Donarski then moved to EnerNOC where he managed 3 teams
of 3-16 people working on various Software as a Service (SaaS) based solutions.
He managed various global contract teams responsible for completely revamping
the front-end of EnerNOC’s Energy Management Platform. He was chosen to lead a
team of 5 to successfully build a new Economic Demand Response Platform in less
than six months with a $3M budget.
Mr. Donarski was recruited by Schneider Electric to recruit,
lead and motivate a team of 18 to build Schneider’s next generation Energy
Management Platform. He coordinated efforts with a company acquired in Israel
to re-design and integrate their technology into the Energy Management Platform
in less than a year. Because of his successes, Mr. Donarski was chosen to
create and facilitate an R&D Managers Committee to connect the 50+ software
development teams through Schneider resulting in significant cost savings by
improving IT services, branding and information sharing between teams.
Mr. Donarski then went back to become the Senior Product
Line Manager for Digital Signal Processors and Software at Bose Professional
Systems. He reduced the time to market of software offerings by 25% and
increased the number of software releases per year by 300%. Additionally, Mr.
Donarski improved the morale of the software development team through altering
the way the team members interact with each other. This resulted in his being
able to successfully introduce and launch 8 new products with budgets ranging
from $500K to $15M in less than 3 years. Additionally, Mr. Donarski was
responsible for bringing the first mobile control application to market in less
than 6 months after multiple failed efforts the 5 years prior to him joining
Bose Professional Systems. He also led engineering in defining the next
generation software platform and architecture that is now used for all Bose
Professional products.
Currently, Mr. Donarski is the General Manager and Director
of Sales of Veterans Business Supply, Inc. a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned
Small Business based in New England. VBS
provides veterans with careers through the business of procuring various
supplies and equipment for federal, state, and local governments throughout the
United States. He’s responsible for all
aspects of running and growing the business.
He manages a team of 5 employees.
Mr. Donarski received his Master in Business Administration
from Babson College with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Mr.
Donarski received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the
University of Illinois where he was chosen to pilot a 5-year BS/MS engineering
program and named a Siebel Scholar; an award given to the top 5 computer
science engineering students at the top 5 engineering universities in the
world. Mr. Donarski is also active outside his career with a passion for making
a difference with people and empowering them to achieve their dreams. He is a
Program Leader for an international personal and professional growth, training
and development company where he leads a high powered seven-month leadership
program in performance, communication, accountability and customer service. He
is directly accountable for the training and development of over 400 people in
Baltimore, Boston, Montreal, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto and
Washington DC.
